Consultation and medical examination
Dr Marija examines the area, the colour and depth of the pigment, the condition of the skin and previous corrections. It is important to tell us when the permanent makeup was done and whether it has previously been treated with a laser or a chemical remover.
Defining the goal of the treatment
We agree on whether you want complete removal of the permanent makeup, removal of only one part, or lightening of the old pigment so that a new shape can be done later.
Photographing the initial condition
We photograph the area before the treatment so that we can follow changes in the colour and amount of pigment between sessions.
Colour assessment and choice of laser
Red eyebrow pigment is treated with the Picolo Premium laser, while for yellow residues we use the HELIOS 785. With mixed pigments, the laser and wavelength may change during the process.

Aftercare and follow-up
After the treatment you receive precise care instructions and information about the reactions you can expect. The next treatment is scheduled only once the skin has fully recovered and the doctor sees a stable colour of the remaining pigment.
How to prepare for permanent makeup removal?
- Wait for fresh permanent makeup to heal completely, usually at least 6-8 weeks, and longer if needed.
- If you have information about the brand and shade of the pigment, send it before the consultation. Photos taken immediately after the original PMU treatment can also be useful.
- Do not expose your face to the sun and do not use self-tanning creams or sprays. Use UV protection every day.
- For a few days before your visit, as advised by the practice, avoid retinoids, acids, aggressive peels and irritating procedures on the area.
- Report any medications, supplements, allergies, tendency to scarring and pigmentation, previous laser treatments, removers and reactions to PMU pigment.
- For the lips, be sure to mention any history of cold sores (herpes), and for eyeliner any eye diseases, surgeries, therapy and contact lenses.
- Come without powder, pencil, mascara, lipstick, creams or oils on the area being treated.
